Frequently asked
questions.
Straight answers about what Cloverly delivers today, how it's deployed, and what's on the roadmap.
What is
Cloverly HR Suite?
A self-hosted HR platform that unifies four core modules — Payroll &
Salary Management, Biometric Attendance & Leave Tracking, ATS Recruitment, and the Employee
Self-Service Portal — plus Work & Project Management, HR/Recruitment analytics dashboards, and a
built-in reporting suite. It runs on Laravel 10 (PHP) and MySQL 8.0.
How is Cloverly
deployed?
It is self-hosted on infrastructure you control. Docker is the
recommended method — a single
docker compose up -d --build brings up PHP-FPM, Nginx and
MySQL, and the first boot automatically generates the app key, runs migrations, seeds the database and
caches config. A manual / cPanel install is also supported through an interactive install.sh
script.Does Cloverly
support multiple currencies and different tax rules?
Yes. Payroll supports multi-currency processing, and income-tax slabs
are fully configurable to your company policy — tax is deducted automatically during payroll. Cloverly
is not hard-coded to any one country's tax system.
What attendance
hardware is supported?
Industry-standard ZKTeco biometric devices (fingerprint), RFID and
proximity cards, and web-based clock-in with optional GPS capture for remote staff. Historical
attendance and employees can also be bulk-imported via CSV.
Is there a
native mobile app?
There is no separate app to install. Cloverly is a fully responsive web
platform that delivers the same capabilities across desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers, including
web clock-in and the employee self-service portal.
How secure is
the platform?
Role-based access control with Admin, HR Manager and Employee roles plus
unlimited custom roles and granular per-module permissions, two-factor authentication, a configurable
password policy, and encrypted data. Because it is self-hosted, your data never leaves infrastructure
you control.
Does Cloverly
have an API?
Yes — a Sanctum token-secured Payroll REST API exposes payroll records
(with filtering), single records, payroll cycles, and cycle-specific data. A modular plugin
architecture also allows custom modules to be built and enabled per company.
What reports
are included?
Nine built-in reports — monthly payroll, cumulative payroll, income tax
(employee & company), attendance, leave quota & utilization, task, time log, weekly timesheet,
and recruitment pipeline — all with date-range filtering and Excel export, plus HR, recruitment and
project analytics dashboards.
Does it include
performance reviews or engagement surveys?
Not in Phase 1. A dedicated Performance Management module (360°/OKR) and
engagement surveys (pulse/eNPS) are on the roadmap and clearly marked as such across the site. Today,
recognition runs through the appreciation & awards system, and insight comes from the HR analytics
dashboard.
Can I migrate
existing employee data?
Yes. Employees can be onboarded in bulk via a structured CSV template,
and historical attendance can be imported via CSV as well.
Is there a free
trial, and how is it priced?
Pricing is per employee, per month with Starter, Growth, Enterprise and
Custom tiers, billed monthly or annually. All plans include a 14-day free trial with no credit card
required — see the Pricing page.
Can roles and
modules be customised per company?
Yes. Admins create unlimited custom roles with per-module permission
levels (full access, own records, added records, or no access) and can clone an existing role. The
Super Admin panel enables or disables individual modules per company.
